• Has anyone done anything nice for the bank holiday? We went on a bike ride, got a bit wet but my daughter loves muddy puddles so it was a good day 😀

      • Great minds and all that! We also tried to have a wholesome family bike ride that immediately turned into carrying a toddler on my shoulders while pushing a flat-tyre bike uphill. Happy bank holiday, everyone!

        • It’s my daughters birthday today and the only thing that she wanted was to go to the zoo! So we dragged ourselves out early to beat the crowds (which were as you’d expect ridicules) and miraculously survived the gift shop exit without a full public meltdown. We are now rewarding ourselves with a massive glass of wine since the little ones are finally fast asleep.

          • Spent most of the morning trying to convince a toddler that matching socks do not actually ruin his life, followed by a riveting trip to Tesco.

            • Kept it completely quiet today, no museums, no crowds, just a very relaxed morning baking sourdough and then letting the kids set up a massive art station on the kitchen floor that we will definitely still be cleaning up on Wednesday.

              • I spent the afternoon pretending I understood how to build a LEGO suspension bridge. 🙈

                • We went to a local country show. There were animals, crafts and loads of activities, but my son’s favourite part was watching a tractor reverse into a field.

                  • We did absolutely nothing and it was wonderful! Stayed in our pyjamas far too long, played games and ordered a takeaway.

                    • A bike ride in the rain sounds lovely. Children always seem to have their best day when they come home completely covered in mud. The washing machine may disagree!

                      • We attempted a barbecue. My husband stood outside under an umbrella insisting it was still barbecue weather while the rest of us watched through the kitchen window 😂

                        • We visited my parents and had a really lovely afternoon. Nothing exciting, just far too much food, the children playing in the garden and a proper chance to catch up.

                          • We had plans for a lovely long walk. We made it about ten minutes before the rain started, so we went home, built a blanket fort and watched films instead. The children thought it was an excellent improvement to the original plan!
